EasyFind displays all found items immediately so it's possible to drag-and-drop an item, e.g. You may also open additional search windows in the meantime, run multiple processes at once, or stop the currently running search (once you’ve started a search, the Search button becomes a Stop button until the process has finished). USAGE Start EasyFind using the Finder or the Services menu (EasyFind > Find In Path… or EasyFind > Find Selection…) within Cocoa applications or Carbon applications supporting services, enter your keywords, select the desired volume or folder and press the Return or Enter key or click on the search button. EasyFind must be placed into the main Applications folder or ~/Applications to work. To make the Services work, log out and log in again after you have started EasyFind at least once. INSTALLATION/UPDATING Copy EasyFind to the Applications folder or any other directory you have access to. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Every Mac with at least Mac OS X 10.3.9 and 256 MB of RAM. Finally EasyFind uses little memory, supports drag-and-drop and the clipboard and finds optionally invisible items or items within packages. In addition, EasyFind uses multithreading and is therefore very responsive even with multiple search processes running, provides contextual menus and Services and displays the location of each item in a separate column for a better overview. This is especially useful if you are tired of slow or impossible indexing, outdated or corrupted indexes, or if you are just looking for missing features like case sensitive or insensitive search, Boolean operators and wildcards or searching for phrases. EasyFind is an alternative to or supplement of Spotlight and finds files, folders or contents in any file without the need for indexing and therefore immediately.
